Hi there, every week we bring you the best of the week’s new releases. Recommendations from us just for you that also feature on our longer Essential New Music Playlist (see Spotify link) 5+ hours of new tunes! It’s an essential curated roundup of what we think are the best new releases worth your time, as always focussing on emerging and forward-moving artists.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw “Something Else To Give”

Man/Woman/Chainsaw balance orchestral flourishes, wiry guitars and explosive dynamics on this new track. It’s constantly shifting shape while never losing its emotional core and that makes for a thrilling and ambitious listen.

Long Distance Runner “Zero”

Urgent Indie-rock packed with layers of atmosphere. The driving rhythms and soaring melodies combine with introspective lyricism to create a song that feels deeply personal and yet instantly anthemic.

Sweeping Promises “Accent”

This might feel minimal but the song thrives on taut post-punk grooves and guitar lines coupled with a sharp vocal delivery. The duo’s stripped-back approach leaves plenty of room for every hook to land, resulting in a track that feels inventive and endlessly replayable.

Echo and the Bunnymen “Brussels Is Haunted”

Echo and the Bunnymen return, kind of…yes, this is a brooding, elegant slice of gothic-tinged rock and Ian McCulloch’s vocals evoke something. Mostly a desire to listen to their back catalogue. I’m including this essentially as a mark of the band they were rather than how they sound now.

ELLUR ft. Cai Alty “False Start”

ELLUR teams up with Cai Alty blending shimmering indie-pop with heartfelt storytelling. Their voices complement each other warmly and the songs vulnerability, about missed opportunities and emotional uncertainty, is wrapped in an effortlessly catchy arrangement.

Crawlers “Cool”

Emotional intensity Crunchy alt-rock guitars. Powerful vocals. This is honest and packed with attitude, and it’s another confident release from a band that continues to turn deeply personal experiences into songs that resonate on a wider scale.

Slow Fiction “turning down flowers”

Beautifully understated as it builds tension through shimmering guitars and restrained vocals before opening out into a cathartic release. Dreamy but still somehow emotionally direct, the New York quartet create expansive indie rock with genuine feeling.

Lily Seabird “Portal To The Past”

Gentle folk-rock instrumentation frames Seabird’s warm, expressive voice, while nostalgic lyrics explore memory and change with grace. The result is an intimate, comforting song that’s also quietly affecting.

Beck “In The Night”

“In The Night” finds Beck once again refusing to stand still creatively. Layering polished production with moody textures and memorable melodies. He effortlessly blends his genre-hopping instincts into something uniquely his own.

Nina Winder-Lind “Headfirst”

This is a richly atmospheric indie-pop track mixing vulnerability with confidence. Expressive production, with an irresistible melodic pull, makes this a captivating listen. Winder-Lind is an artist with a distinctive voice.

Wings of Desire “The Way You Feel”

The dream pop duo continue their upward trajectory with another new mooned timed release. They fuse spoken-word influences and shimmering guitars with a cinematic quality running throughout.

Julia Jacklin “I Wish”

Jacklin releases another masterclass in understated songwriting. Her delivery draws every emotion to the surface, while the sparse arrangement allows the lyrics to linger. It’s thoughtful and quietly devastating in the best possible way.
