It’s the future, 2026, and everything is rosy and new. In the hubbub of holiday celebrations you might have missed some late springing music news however. Just before the fireworks popped and we bid farewell to 2025 Ethel Cain shared with us, via an Instagram post, a whole bunch of demos for her “Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You” album released mid last year.

The 8 tracks, shared via her Soundcloud page, showcase the fledgling ideas for tracks such as “Nettles” named Miserable demo – right on brand, “Willoughby’s Theme”, “Janie” (originally called “Shrug”) and more. As an artist Hayden Anhedonia has always (over)shared her process and maintained a transparent relationship with fans of her Ethel Cain lore and this adds further to that, offering up her creative thinking as well as drawing a line under the album and the year, looking ahead to what’s next.
