Long Distance Runner release expansive debut single “Zero”

West London newcomers Long Distance Runner have arrived with intent, unveiling their debut single ‘Zero’ – a sprawling six-minute introduction that immediately marks them out as one of the capital’s most intriguing new bands.

Featuring members of Mandrake Handshake and Dead Dad’s Club, the group blur the boundaries between post-rock, cinematic soundtracks and the heartfelt vulnerability of Midwest emo, building vast emotional crescendos that feel equally suited to an indie venue or the closing scene of a film. Produced by Tom Kellett (Moreish Idols, Pearl2), “Zero” serves as a compelling mission statement, balancing delicate introspection with towering instrumental swells.

The accompanying video, released alongside the single, mirrors the song’s slow-burning intensity with striking, dreamlike visuals and atmospheric storytelling, creating a fitting visual counterpart to the band’s widescreen sound.

Despite only emerging this year, Long Distance Runner are garnering praise and fans everywhere and have bagged a nationwide tour supporting Swervedriver set for the autumn. “Zero” is a slow, ferocious burn that genuinely feels like something very interesting indeed.
