Westside Cowboy crash into summer with their most addictive track yet, the woozy, wide-eyed anthem “Drunk Surfer”. It’s the final teaser before the full drop of their debut EP This Better Be Something Great. Spoiler: it definitely is.

Born from chaotic bedroom jams and a mutual allergy to mediocrity, the Manchester four-piece have quickly outgrown their origin-story punchline. With a run of infectious, hard to categorise singles, their irresistible blend of scrappy charm and sharp songwriting has turned heads everywhere.

“Drunk Surfer” feels like a perfect distillation of Westside Cowboy’s sound. Their lo-fi shimmer, slacker swagger, and a big-hearted chorus that somehow feels both nostalgic and totally new. Think Pavement meets Arctic Monkeys, with a chaser of something bittersweet.

Produced by Lewis Whiting of English Teacher (who clearly knows how to bottle magic), this track is both a fan-favourite and a mission statement. If this is how they end their EP rollout, and complete phase one just imagine how the next one begins. Dive in now because the tide’s rising fast or this four piece and you don’t want to miss the boat.
