London four piece and goth rock relative newcomers Mouth Ulcers recently announced their debut EP “Silent Pictures”, due for release via LAB Records on July 10th, and share their latest single “Closer To You” now.

For anyone unfamiliar the quartet of vocalist/guitarist Zak Watson, Josephine Rose (guitar/vocals), Jamie-Lee Culver (bass), and David Zbirka (drums) formed in 2025, merging the brooding gloom of post punk and goth.

Their sound is inherently icy, stark and intense sounding and the group have released a series of minimal, shadowy tracks like “Prevail” and “A Perfect End” that tether the familiar sounds of the past with something undeniably applicable today. As a result of the buzz fans of The Cure, Souxsie & The Banshees, Bauhaus et al they’ve been collecting live fans and praise all over the press and the debut EP is sure to be an in demand item on release.

Mouth Ulcers explain: “‘Closer To You’ is about the inescapable pull toward someone, being completely surrendered to their beauty and the obsessive devotion you have towards them whilst also trying to navigate one’s self control.”
