Hailing from the fog-laced docks of Rotterdam, L’orne have never been ones for half measures. Their latest song, “Talk To Me Too” (out now), plunges headfirst into the anxious static of human connection and it’s a haunting prelude to their upcoming EP, Mirror, landing November 14.
Built out the haze of post-rock gloom and slowcore calm, but with bursts of psychedelic noise, the track feels like a lucid dream gone slightly feral, as “Dot” their release from September can testify. Frontperson Quincey Fortes (they/them) describes the bands recording sessions as “a little cabin fever meltdown,” having spent time sealed inside a tall-domed studio where the outside world vanished. “It felt like we weren’t even on this planet,” and it’s definitely true that there’s a off-kilter, alien energy humming through every second of the song’s slow-burning crescendo.
“Talk To Me Too” marks the first music in a planned series of drops, Chapter One being “Mirror” EP and culminating in, How Are You, Old Ragged Bunny?, unfolding in 2026, L’orne are charting their own way to the stars, not afraid to go where chaos and catharsis share a pulse.
