Who can remember seeing the video for Guns N’ Roses November Rain? Particularly the moment around 4 minutes in when Slash walks out of the church in dust central New Mexico, Les Paul slung over his shoulder and proceeds to ‘act’ out the most overblown mimed (i.e.unplugged) guitar solo in music video history? It was simultaneously epic and bowel clenchingly stupid and only cost $1.5 million to make or something.
Well, Brighton’s The Magic Gang decide on a rather lower key British, filmed on the available miniscule budget version – possibly iPhone and iMovie. There’s A LOT of that “being places with your axe and cymbal (hi drummer) you really shouldn’t be.”
Actually that’s unfair because this has much more in common with Supergrass‘ Alright maybe or any number of upcoming bands who just laugh, can’t take it seriously or throw anything in that fills a few seconds. Suffice to say it’s not visually ‘innovative’ but the polished pop vibes of the song it accompanies are still pretty sweet. Watch below:
